Job Opportunity: Executive Assistant (Special Measures)

We are seeking a dedicated APS4 Executive Assistant to support the Principal Member of the Independent Advisory Council (IAC). This is a unique opportunity to work within a team that brings the voices of people with disability and sector experts directly to the heart of disability services.

About the Role

As an Executive Assistant, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the IAC Secretariat. Your work will help ensure the Council meets its legislative and governance obligations through high-quality administrative support.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Administrative Support: Managing complex diaries and triaging emails to ensure timely responses.
  • Meeting Coordination: Scheduling meetings, preparing accessible documentation, and taking minutes.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, culturally safe relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel & Logistics: Coordinating travel arrangements, booking venues, and researching accessibility requirements for events.
  • Operational Tasks: Managing invoices, researching policies, and maintaining digital filing systems.

Mandatory Requirements (Special Measures)

This position is filled under Special Measures in accordance with section 45(1)(b) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).

  • Lived Experience: This role is open only to people living with a disability.
  • Professional Experience: You must have demonstrated experience in administration roles.
